Day 1-
Arrival and drive to La Fortuna

Arenal Volcano is by far the most active volcano in
Costa Rica and one of the most active in the world
with daily small eruptions. The surrounding
rainforests are loaded with wildlife and there is
plenty to do and see. This makes the area of Arenal
and La Fortuna a fascinating tourist destination.
Day 2-
Canopy and Hot Springs in La Fortuna

The Canopy Tour offers everyone an exhilarating
opportunity to soar through the rain forest high
above the forest floor. We do ours with Ecoglide
which is recognized as the very best in the La
Fortuna area. You will reach speeds of over 40 miles
per hour on the zip lines sometimes hundreds of feet
above the forest floor. Hot springs and tours to see
the volcano are on tap as well.
Day 3-
Canyoning in La Fortuna
 |
We take a fantastic canyoning trip with
Pure Trek; the preeminent canyoning
company in Costa Rica. Under the
supervision of professional guides we
will rappel off of waterfalls some of
which are well over 100 feet high! The
slot canyon is a veritable ecosystem
unto itself and makes for a surreal eco
adventure. We will have 1 more night to
take in the lava and burning avalanche
of boulders coming from the top of the
Arenal Volcano. |
Day 4-
Canoeing Río Parismina
We make a 1 day trip on the Upper Rio Parismina in
open canoes. It is a veritable floating wildlife
safari. This river section we had overlooked for
years and then when we finally did it, we were
pleasantly surprised (amazed) at what it had to
offer. The water was clear and cool, monkeys
abounded, and the size and height of the trees in
the rainforest was astounding. The number of giant
trees per kilometer of river is unrivaled anywhere
else we've run rivers in Costa Rica. We canoe 18
scenic kilometers through this fairyland and pull
out at the road end at Silencio. A hearty lunch is
served on a midstream island.

Day 5 y 6-
Río Pacuare 2 Day Trip
The Rio Pacuare is one of the jewels of Costa Rica
and according to National Geographic, which has
ranked the river as one of the top ten rivers in the
world. The heart pounding whitewater along with its
remote jungle location and its warm water (71
degrees Fahrenheit) make this a popular destination
for adventurous travelers seeking a whitewater
induced adrenaline rush. This river is great for
beginners and still thrills experienced rafters. You
will have a magic night in camp with all meals,
happy hour and open bar all the while surrounded by
incredible natural beauty and serenaded by the
sounds of the jungle and the rapids below.

The second day features a hike to a Cabécar Indian
village.
When you reach the village, you can talk to the
Indians; share some activities; take pictures and
witness how these live much the same as they have
for millennia in the rainforest.
Day 6-
Drive to Puerto Viejo

Day 7-
Cahuita Snorkeling, National Park; beach in the
afternoon. (sleep In P. Viejo.)
Puerto Viejo a renowned beach and party town on the
Caribbean, World Class uncrowned beaches entertain
us by day and the evenings are free to roam the many
shops and beach bars.
SNORKELLING IN CAHUITA NATIONAL PARK
Many think a snorkeling experience is just grabbing
a mask, snorkel, fins and swimming out to the ocean.
While much of this is true, it’s not everything if
you want to have a safe & enjoyable adventure.
Knowing the basis of the snorkeling gear and some
tricks on how to use it, will earn you time and
energy. Our program starts with a briefing on the
snorkeling gear & tricks on how to get the best
experience out of it. We also give you safety
instruction on how to avoid fatigue situations, heat
strokes and how to take care of the coral reef that
takes so many years to grow. Being able to spot a
specific coral or fish and knowing a bit about it –life
span, unique characteristics, etc- can change your
whole snorkeling experience. Being supervised by our
highly trained PADI dive masters or Scuba Diving
Instructors who know the place like no one else
gives you the security of going safely out to sea.

Day 8-
Surf lesson (Sleep in P. Viejo)

Designed for those who want to get a taste of
surfing. Our coaches are some of the best in the
area. They love their work (who wouldn't?). We feel
so strongly about our coaches' skills, passion and
dedication. After the lesson and lunch, you can keep
on surfing or just relax on the beach. We have one
last night with you in Costa Rica for a farewell
dinner and some cold drinks on the beach.
Please note that our activities on the first day and
the last day are subject to your flight times. We
will of course give you the best use of all of your
time with us.
