KAYAKING IN COSTA RICA!

Explore the tropical rivers of three incredible whitewater zones of Costa Rica. First, we spend three days boating the rivers of the Arenal Volcano/Sarapiqui area on runs like the Toro, Sarapiqui, Tres Amigos, Rio Arenal, Rio San Lorenzo and the Poza Azul waterfall, Then it's on to the whitewater mecca of Turrialba for the Pacuare and the Reventazon or Pejibaye. We wind up our week with a couple of fantastic days on the rivers of the Pacific: the Naranjo and the Savegre, spending our afternoons surfing on the beaches.

OUR AIRPORT TO AIRPORT SERVICE means no hassles for you; just enjoyment! YOUR TWO KAYAKER GUIDES are bilingual, friendly, well versed in guiding, safety, and rescue. In each zone we travel to we often hire a LOCAL kayaker friend of ours for his/her up to the week knowledge of river conditions. NEW THIS YEAR with our LODGINGS: ALL hotels we use have pools. These include the San Bosco in Arenal, the Talamanca for the Sarapiqui, the Geliwa in Turrialba, and La Colina in Manuel Antonio on the Pacific. ALL MEALS ARE INCLUDED*. The use of our KAYAKS is included (see sidebar). Our transportation throughout the trip is with modern (2000 model and newer) vans equipped with kayak racks, AC, and most importantly, solid responsible drivers!

 The Kayak Fleet
We have a good selection of hot boats for you to use. Ask for an up to date list. Our boats are all in great shape; no old oilcanned hulls here!

 Testimonials
"Phil and his crew of guides are intimately familiar with every stream, large or small. They carefully evaluated our skill levels for kayaking on intermediate runs before they guided us on the more difficult sections. And for every rapid and hazard, the RainForest World guides knew the safe routes and insured that my son and daughter and I knew which lines to paddle our boats.
The airport pickup and the all inclusive deal with meals, lodgings and shuttles meant that all we had to do was enjoy the scenery, the friendly Costa Rican people and paddle fantastic rivers..."

About Bringing Your Boat on the Plane
Since 911 air travel in general has become much more complicated and bringing a kayak on a flight to Costa Rica is no exception. Several airlines have a flat-out no kayak policy. Ironicly, almost all airlines still accept surfboards, even longboards. Todays playboats are very small, very short, relatively light and very resistant to airline damage. They should be welcomed, However, they aren't and we are powerless to change airline policy. Many kayakers have had luck bringing their boat in a BAG, (LIKE A SURFBOARD BAG), and checking it in as a "waveski". One boater told me he always loads it in the bag upside down so that if casually opened, the cockpit isn´t the first thing the desk person sees. It is all a far cry from when I used to bring my 12 foot glass boats down with a piece of cardboard ducktaped over the cockpit! Prices are also quite variable. The thing is so many boaters feel so much more comfortable in their own boat. We understand and though I don´t give a discount if you bring your own boat instead of using one of ours, I will probably be willing to buy your used boat from you here once the trip is done if you don´t want to lug it back home. Another issue is paddles. Get ready for a possible stiff oversize bag charge on non-break-down paddles. A great idea is to bundle your whole group's paddles together and just pay that fee once and spread it across the group.
